The exploits and revolving stash of a Yarn Rep. I hope I can figure out everything I need to do in this new life, or at least get better at "going with the flow."

MDSW cutie
So I am going to keep practicing blogging until I get better at it. Which means for anyone who reads this, it will seem a little random. "Why did she post so many times in May?" people will wonder. Hopefully, the fiber-related theme will hold up and it will all somehow make sense. This lovely girl is from this year's Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. I snapped just a couple pics on my feverish escape from the booth/run to fetch Gail White her new wheel. I learned a ton from hanging out with Gail and her husband Jim for a couple days, and MDSW was another hight point of the last year, my first in the fiber arts industry.
My Internet Radio Interview
So, I bumped into Joanne Quinn-Smith the other morning at The American Entrepreneur on-site broadcast. I knew her nickname was Techno-Granny, but I didn't really know what it meant. She (sort of) remembered me from my old life, and when I told her what I was doing now, she said "Great! Let's have you on my show 7am Monday." This happened at around 11am Saturday. So, no big deal. I thought and worked on Sunday to come up with some talking points that I thought people would want to hear about (like my ingenious and innovative business strategies,) and I listened to some of her archived shows and tried to figure out again how to use TalkShoe. Around 10:30pm Sunday, Joanne emailed me that my talking points "needed more meat," and that I should talk more about yarn than about my start into this new career in the yarn industry. OK, no problemo. So, we went with it and here (click to listen) is the result. I still can't bring myself to listen to it. I think I said "um" a lot.
Look what I have!
When I got home from my "quick" trip to Michigan and Indiana (a success,) these were among the goodies that awaited me. I now have cash and carry inventory in Abstract Fiber's Miro (superwash Merino worsted) and Picasso (baby alpaca DK, yum.) Are you kidding me?
